A Short Story by Jazzy Tran

Over the summer, one of the things Jazzy had to do for summer "school work" was write a short story.  One thing I can say, she has a very goofy and vivid imagination.  The short story is found in her blog. You can click on her link found on the upper left hand of this blog.

Pierced Ears!

A few years ago, we attempted to have Jazzy get her ears pierced.  Unfortunately, only 1 ear stayed pierced.  After fretting about going through the "ouch" of getting it done again, she finally decided to do it.  This year, for her 11th birthday, Jazzy got the pierce!

A Last Hurrah

Thanks to some kind friends, we were able to go to Six Flags for FREE.  This signified a sort of "last hurrah" before school technically starts.  It was great!  We made the most of our 3 hours there.

Not being very fond of amusement park rides, Jazzy was very excited to have found one she really enjoys.  She even rode it a second time by herself!
Mia and Offie are totally into rides.  Daddy is glad to have partners when going to amusement parks.  According to them,  "Mom is no fun when it comes to quick spins and sudden drops."  I merely take the pictures that document their fun.

Our Lone Pumpkin

Last year, Tay planted pumpkin seeds.  We were able to harvest about 9 decent sized ones.  This year, we didn't have the time to re-plant, but one sprouted anyway.  Whoohoo!  Here is a picture of our lone pumpkin.  Hope it's enough for a pie.

End of Summer Harvest

Our forever faithful cherry tomato plants have yielded very generously this summer.  Even in our neglect (since summer has been full and fun), it's keeps on producing sweet, juicy tomatoes.  At least that's what I'm told.  I know, I should be better about including tomatoes in my diet.

In this picture, Jazzy is picking up this week's harvest.

Big Guy's in 8th Grade!

How time flies!  Our first born is in 8th grade!  It is truly amazing all that God has taught us through the life of our big guy.  We have seen God's perfect grace, His faithfulness, and so much of His character when He placed Timmy into our lives.

It seems just like yesterday that we took a little 2 month old, five pounder home.  Tay & I  had no clue what to do with him except love him and ask the Lord CONSTANTLY for wisdom.

Here's Tim getting ready to board the school bus.

Swim Meet Time

Yesterday, the girls participated in a Swim meet.  They have done so in the past, but this one was a tad bit different.  Previously, they were with other homeschooled children w/in our swim team, and the meets were not too big in attendance.  This time, our swim team joined with another local swim team.  It was held outdoors in the HEAT with many, many more children.  The girls were excited and nervous all at the same time.  Papa made a special effort to attend this one, along with Auntie Liza & Ate Jess.

HFG Sandy Beach Day Trip

This past Saturday, our HFG met up to spend a good portion of the day at Sandy Beach in Rio Vista.  It was blast for all the kids!  While the children spent time in the water and on sand, the "big kids" got to catch up on life (of course, while watching the little kids).

Someone's bound to get buried under all that sand.  Is that you Jazzy?

  The Papas.

Boys will be boys!  Here, my little guy is carefully applying a dirt mask on his buddy's head.

(Thank you to fellow mama for taking great pictures and sharing them.)
