Biography of "John and Betty Stam" by Kathleen White

This book tells the story of 2 servants of Christ whose trust, faith, and peace were unwaveringly placed in their Savior, even til their brutal deaths.  Here is an excerpt from the book (statement by Betty Stam 9 yrs. before her death.)

"Lord, I give up my own purposes and plans, all my own desires and hopes and ambitions (whether they be fleshly or soulish) and accept Thy will for my life.  I give myself, my life, my all utterly to Thee, to be Thine forever.  I hand over to Thy keeping all of my friendships; all the people whom I love are to take a second place in my heart.  Fill me and seal me with Thy Holy Spirit.  Work out Thy whole will in my life, at any cost, now and forever.  To me to live is Christ. Amen!"

This book was a great encouragement to me.  It showed 2 lives who put Jesus Christ and the spreading of His Gospel above all else.

Not at all a good "Mom & Dad Tooth Fairy"!

Mia recently lost a baby tooth.  She was delighted to finally rid herself of that loose, bothersome tooth.  We made special accomodations for it beside her pillow and assured her that "Mom & Dad Tooth Fairy" would replace it with a treat.  When she awakes the following morning, she could look forward to "something".

Well, the next morning came.  I was sitting with Offie reading a book, and Mia comes down the stairs CRYING!  My immediate thought, "Oh maaaann!  I forgot to take her tooth and replace it with a treat!  This is the second time we forgot in 1 year!"
I called Daddy Tooth Fairy and told him what happened.  We both felt like major "losers".

We ended up giving her a $1 and promised to let her use it to buy her very own gum.
She now has her very own pack of gum.

School Days

"I love reading about history! I would love it more if I didn't have to do the chapter questions."  Jasmine Tran

Timmy is enjoying school very much. If asked what his favorite subject is, he will say “P.E.”! He looks forward to the yellow school bus that comes by every morning to pick him up. We have been blessed with caring teachers for him through the years.

Meanwhile, the 3 younger children are home with me (hopefully enjoying and learning). Here are a few pictures of Jasmine, Mia, Offie.

Mia is very excited to know her single digit addition.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

This was our 1st field trip of the school year.  We visited Cool Patch Pumpkins in Dixon, along with the Kawazoes and some of the other homeschooling families in our Charter School.  The kids always appreciate a day away from their book work!
